Orion Morales, renowned Chilean musician and educator, Master in Performance from Berklee and Berklee Global Jazz Ambassador (USA), Luis Advis Prize in Composition, Government of Chile. He has shared the stage with artists such as Danilo Perez, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jean Luc Ponty, William Cepeda, Patricia Zarate and Marco Pignataro. 8:30 p.m. at the Casa de Colón Museum, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. dating

Fuerteventura (Friday the 13th at 5:00 p.m. at the Raíz del Pueblo de La Oliva Association) and will end in
Tenerife where he will also give a masterclass this Sunday the 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the Unión Tejina Theater.

In his concert, the pianist will be accompanied by great artists from the Canarian music scene, such as
Beatriz Alonso, (vocals), Miguel Manescau, (guitar), Tana Santana, (bass), and Akior García, (drums). An appointment that is presented as extremely special in which Lion will offer a tribute concert to his folklore from a current perspective, merging other music such as jazz. Orion Lion, pianist and educator, develops compositions inspired by the landscapes and myths of Chile. He integrates jazz tools and at the same time recognizes the heritage of Africa in South America but with the essence of the Huayno and Cueca rhythms, which are the basis of Chilean folklore and of the peoples around the Andes Mountains. In his concert, in addition to his works, works by the
"new track" movement created by Violeta Parra, mother of Latin American folklore.

As far as his masterclasses are concerned, under the heading
Compromisation in Jazz and Afro-Folklore of America, Orión Lion will present this methodology that brings together composition in real time and improvisation based on melodic and rhythmic architecture, seeking connection in collective interpretation, stimulating creative capacity, reaction in performance based on auditory development, physical dissociation and the language of rhythmic keys based on jazz and Afro-American folklore.

Masterclasses are a
production of Mousike which since 2010, -twelve years now of uninterrupted programming- has been carrying out numerous actions dedicated to teaching and musical practice which, beginning its activity in La Laguna, is currently managing to transfer these actions to the rest of the Archipelago with its project
'Between Islands'. The consolidation of its pedagogical action has also been recognized internationally when two years ago it became part of the Latin American Association of Music Schools, ALAEMUS, in addition to other incursions in countries such as the United States, Italy, Brazil, Colombia, Chile or Japan in where, also, Mousikê has given a good account of the music that has been made in the Canary Islands through its TIEMPO project (Work on Research and Evolution of Popular Music).
