The cold wave has activated this Thursday the warning for snow in seven communities, three of them -Aragón, Catalunya and Navarra- in orange due to accumulations of up to 20 centimeters thick in 24 hours, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has reported. .

Starting this Thursday afternoon, Aragon will activate the orange level (important risk) due to snowfall that will leave 20 centimeters in points of the Pyrenees at a level that will descend from 1,000 meters. The largest accumulations are expected in the eastern half.

In Navarra, the orange warning for snowfall will affect points in the Pyrenees from 6:00 p.m., where around 20 centimeters are expected in 24 hours above 1,000 meters, while in Catalonia there is an orange warning for snow in the Arán Valley and yellow warning (risk) due to rain in Barcelona and Girona and due to wind in Tarragona.

In the communities of Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla y León and La Rioja it will be activated throughout the yellow warning (risk) due to snowfall and in Andalusia, the Valencian Community and the City of Melilla there is a yellow alert due to strong gusts of wind and rough seas. .

Aemet warns that with the orange alert there is a risk of unusual meteorological phenomena and with a certain degree of danger for usual activities, and with the yellow there is no meteorological risk for the population in general, although there is for some specific activity.
