The hasty departure of Pablo Iglesias of the Government opens a new phase in the coalition. Nobody foresaw such an episode just a year after the start of the first bipartite since the Second Republic. And it still has chapters ahead that are an unknown even for the protagonists. The truth is that United We can take advantage of the Madrid elections to reinforce the candidacy that had risks of not obtaining parliamentary representation and accelerates a succession that Iglesias had been thinking about for a long time. Now it remains to be seen the role that Yolanda Díaz plays and if her new role as the highest representative of United We Can in the cabinet entails new forms of internal functioning. The Socialists yearn for a change, although they have doubts about the role of Iglesias outside the Government.
