The rate of change of telephone company does not stop. The past month of October was in which more portabilities were made in the history of the registries of the sector, with almost one million transfers of operator, according to the statistics presented this Friday by the National Commission of the Markets and the Competition (CNMC) .
In this way, the record, after September data, of changes among telecommunications operators breaks for the second consecutive month. This continues the upward trend of the last year of transfers between companies, due to the growing competition and price war experienced by operators in the sector.
Specifically, 707,000 people changed their mobile phone company, 15% more than in the same month a year earlier, and more than 237,000 in fixed telephony. In the accumulated, in the 10 months between January and October, 6.3 million contracts were changed from a mobile phone company and in the case of the fixed one, the figure reached 1.7 million homes.
As it has been happening in the previous months, MásMóvil is the company with the highest growth of customers, at the expense of the three large operators. Thus, it grows in October more than double that of Telefónica, with 53,000 net additions. On the other hand, Vodafone and Orange lose customers.
The fourth operator is already touching the six million mobile phone contracts after incorporating 490,000 lines in the first 10 months of the year. In this period, Telefónica accumulated a loss of 30,000 customers, Vodafone left 450,000 and Orange 250,000. These two companies did not close any positive month.
