The Spanish and Basque governments will try to finalize the transfer to Euskadi of four new competitions before the start, at 00:00 on Friday, of the electoral campaign for the next general elections.
The spokesman of the Basque executive, Josu Erkoreka, has specified that the Mixed Commission of Transfers between both governments could be celebrated throughout Thursday, but has specified that this date is pending to determine in a meeting by videoconference set for tomorrow.
In statements to the media before participating this Sunday in France in a tribute to the inmates in the concentration camp of Gurs, Erkoreka has reported that during this weekend both executives "have intensified contacts and exchanged documentation."
"The shared objective is that if at the meeting tomorrow we close the issues, the formal meeting of the Commission will be held before the start of the electoral campaign," he said.
As he has added, the negotiation "is advanced, but there are fringes, fundamentally related to the economic valuation".
He has assured that the Spanish government maintains a "reasonably positive attitude" about the transfer process and has argued that, although after the elections the party changes in the executive "it is an agreement and a compromise between governments" and "we will demand compliance" "
"All this is independent of the parliamentary and political game," he has sentenced.
The four new transfers are related to the ordinary retirement of workers affected by an ERE, legislation on pharmaceutical products, school insurance and a section of the AP-68 toll road linking Bilbao and Zaragoza.
Erkoreka has been confident that the rest of transfers committed by the central government will be carried out in the coming weeks or months.
