The celebration of the Da de la Mujer in La Regenta invites the debate - The Province


The Art Center La Regenta joins from tomorrow to Women's Day with a film cycle composed of films that make two unique views about the genre and that undoubtedly invite debate: Mimí metallurgical, wounded in his honor, by Lina Wertmüller, and Hannah and her sisters, by Woody Allen. The sessions will be tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, at 6:00 pm, in this production space of the Government of the Canary Islands, with free entry. Each session will have a brief introduction and, at the end of each one of the projections, a moderate debate will be opened by components of the Vertigo Film Association.

Both feature films cover the feminine from the cinematographic side of direction, script and acting. Tomorrow it will be screened Mimí metallurgical, wounded in his honor, film made in 1972 under the direction of Lina Wertmüller, also author of the script. This is a funny Italian comedy, nominated for Best Film at the Cannes Festival that year, which tells the story of Mimi, who, after losing his job, leaves his wife in his native Sicily and travels alone to Turin to find life. There he becomes a metallurgist and lover of a communist, Fiore. On his return to Sicily he discovers that his wife is going to have another's child and carefully prepares his revenge against the one who has made him cuckold, seducing his wife.

The cycle continues on Thursday with the aforementioned masterpiece by Woody Allen.
