The Canary Wrestling School Project continues its course

The initiative of the Department of Sports of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria continues to tour the Educational Centers of the island, with the aim of offering a renewed vision of our vernacular sport.

In January, 12 centers were visited, located in different parts of the geography of Gran Canaria. The municipalities of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Telde, Valsequillo, Agüimes, Ingenio, Tejeda and San Mateo. At the end of this first month of the year, the Project has already visited 11 of the 21 municipalities on the island, having completed its training 1846 students, of which 924 were boys and 922 girls.

The ages between the students range from 6 to 17 years old, reaching from the first stage of the EGB to the First of Baccalaureate. The wide age range means that the Project has different predesigned methodologies adapted to each specific age.

This week, the School Project monitors will visit the municipalities of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Santa Lucía, Gáldar and Arucas, among others.
