The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has registered this monday two new deaths from coronavirus in Gran Canaria, which causes the number of deaths from Covid to increase until 233. The week in the Islands has started with 163 new infections and 122 discharges (6,004 in total).
The new data once again places Gran Canaria as the island most affected in this second wave of the virus, registering 84 new cases in the last 24 hours (7419). The figures in Tenerife also increase, there have been 56 new positives (3,889). In Fuerteventura there are 17 new people affected by Covid (606) and in Lanzarote there have been 3 positives (1083). La Gomera adds three cases (47) and La Palma (179) and El Hierro (46) do not add new infections since yesterday. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Canary Islands have added 13,269 infections.
Data from active cases in the Archipelago grow today to 7,032, 39 more than yesterday. Regarding PCR tests, in the Canary Islands 355,375 have been carried out so far, 2,436 of them during the last day, with a positive percentage of 4.67%.
Of those affected, 72 are admitted to the ICU, two more than the day before, 210 are admitted to the plant, and 6,750 are at their homes.
