The Canary Islands registers 81 outbreaks of coronavirus in the last week

By area in which they have occurred, it should be noted that 31 are shoots of social origin, 26 family members, 13 work, five educational, four sports, and two in socially vulnerable groups.

In general, all the outbreaks have less than 10 associated cases except for five outbreaks that exceed that number, among which one sports outbreak with 23 cases that affects Tenerife and La Gomera, another two with 13 and 11 cases in Tenerife of social origin, and another work on the same island with 11 cases and related to the food industry. In Gran Canaria, the largest outbreak has 15 cases, with work and family derivations.

It should also be noted that the majority of outbreaks this week are social, followed by family members, the latter mainly occurring among non-cohabitants with several addresses associated with each outbreak.

Coronavirus outbreaks in construction

Regarding labor outbreaks, in addition to the one already mentioned in a company in the food industry with eleven cases in Tenerife, two others should be highlighted in this same sector also in Tenerife, with five and three cases, and four outbreaks in the construction business sector, one of them in Gran Canaria with five cases, another in Fuerteventura with four affected and another two in Tenerife with five and three affected, respectively.

Of the five educational outbreaks, all with family branches, one has been notified in Lanzarote, with five positive and the rest in Tenerife with less than 10 affected.

Regarding the sports outbreaks, all with family branches, one has been registered in a gym in Lanzarote, with 6 affected, and the other three correspond to Tenerife, one in a gym with seven cases, and two linked to football clubs, the one already mentioned with 23 cases and branching in La Gomera, and another with three associated cases.

Also 22 old shoots are still being tracked, of which some have grown in number of cases. Thus, an outbreak of social origin, with family branches in Fuerteventura, has already reached 42 cases; one of social origin in Gran Canaria already has 28 associated cases and another three in Tenerife, of which two are in the workplace and the third in education, work and family record 26, 25 and 23 positives, respectively.
