The Canary Islands Jazz & Ms Festival, ever closer – La Provincia


The International Festival Canarias Jazz & Más Heineken presented the programming of his 28th edition at Tenerife Auditorium, marked by the presence of Maceo Parker as the main attraction on his poster, and with 28 other artists who will give more than 50 concerts throughout the month of July, between 5 and 21, reaching five of the eight islands – Tenerife, Gran Canaria, La Palma, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Three concerts will be offered by this incomparable performer, in Gran Canaria (July 18, Plaza de Santa Ana), Lanzarote (July 19, Reef) and Tenerife (July 20, Puerto de la Cruz). Parker will be one of the 30 artists that will be part of the poster of a new edition that will be held from July 5 to 21 and that will once again cover the islands of La Palma, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

Miguel Ramírez, director of the festival, thanked all the sponsors of the festival for their presence, –"Today I feel especially wrapped", he said – in an edition in which there is "a great variety of styles that represent the purest of jazz and all those families that are part of their own evolution" in an attempt to please all audiences throughout these years "have been added to our proposal". He also thanked the support of all the sponsors present and invited the public to "investigate and discover all the good things that are in our programming this year".

The president of the Cabildo, Carlos Alonso, praised the effort that year after year makes "the organization of a festival that reaches 28 years thanks to the effort and the excellent work it does, and the support of a private brand, which is not always easy". The island president recalled that the festival is part of "a cultural strategy of which other types of activities are part and that give value to Tenerife as a cultural destination."
