The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands informs that the vaccination teams of the Canary Islands Health Service have administered a total of 45,955 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 to the pediatric population between 5 and 11 years old, this means that 33.57 percent of that age group have already received the first dose.
In addition, vaccination of the entire population continues, which requires one, two or a booster dose. In total, 3,835,165 doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered as of last night. In the Archipelago there are already 1,782,637 people who have received at least one dose, which represents 84.98 percent of the target population in which boys and girls between 5 and 11 years old have been included.
In addition, until yesterday, 1,692,045 people who have already received the complete vaccination schedule had been immunized, which represents 80.66 percent of the target population of the Archipelago.
Currently, groups from 1 to 7 (residents and health and social health personnel of residences; health personnel; large dependents and main caregivers; vulnerable people; groups with essential functions such as teachers and policemen and people with very high risk conditions) and the 9 (population aged between 50 and 59 years that has already reached that percentage) are already vaccinated with two doses between 99.5 and 100%.
In the rest of the age groups, the situation is as follows:
–Group 8. People between 60 and 65 years old: 84.19 percent with at least one dose and 69.75 percent with a complete regimen.
–Group 10. People between 40 and 49 years old: 61.30 percent with at least one dose and 87.46 percent with the complete regimen (including those immunized with Janssen, which was originally a single-dose vaccine).
–Group 11. People between 30 and 39 years old: 67.70 percent with at least one dose and 64.42 percent with the complete regimen.
–Group 12. People between 20 and 29 years old: 64.15 percent with one dose and 59.33 percent with the complete regimen.
–Group 13. People between 12 and 19 years old: 81.99 percent with one dose and 79.05 percent with the complete regimen.
–Group 14. People between 5 and 11 years old: 45,955 people have received at least one dose, 33.57 percent.
501,226 booster dose
Of this total of doses administered, 501,226 correspond to booster doses against the coronavirus. Booster doses are indicated for people over 40 years of age; for those who were vaccinated with AstraZéneca, with Janssen (regardless of age); and for health personnel of Primary and Hospital Care; socio-sanitary workers in public and private centers of the centers for the elderly and for the disabled; inmates in disability care centers, patients with high-risk conditions and those receiving treatment with immunosuppressive drugs.
