The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has reported this Tuesday that the public hospitals of the Canary Health Service (SCS) have carried out in the first five months of this year a total of
78 transplants from 56 donorswhat it means
8.3 percent more than in the first five months of 2021.
54 are kidney transplantsof which 25 were carried out at the Maternal-Child Insular University Hospital Complex and 29 were carried out at the University Hospital of the Canary Islands (HUC), according to Health in a statement on the occasion of National Donor Day.
In addition, the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria has carried out in this period of time
13 liver transplants and the one from Gran Canaria Dr. Negrín,
11 heart transplants.
