The Canary Islands begin to vaccinate teachers against covid

The Ministry of Health starts today thursday vaccination against COVID-19 of the personnel who work in educational centers of the archipelago with the inoculation of the first doses of the vaccine to Group 6b, that is, to the teaching and non-teaching staff of Special Education and Infantil.

The immunization of these teachers and the rest of the professionals who are in contact with students and who are active will begin today in the General Hospital of La Palma. This will be carried out in the afternoon with the aim of not altering the normal functioning of schools and in accordance with the coordination criteria established with the Ministry of Education.

The vaccination will start this Friday in the islands of El Hierro, La Gomera, and Lanzarote. The latter will take place at the Valterra Health Center, in Arrecife, also in the afternoon shift. The forecast is that during the weekend a hundred workers of the educational centers of the island will be vaccinated, of the indicated teachings, during the days of Saturday and Sunday.

The teaching and non-teaching staff of Tenerife and Gran Canaria will be vaccinated from next week.
