The Canarian theatrical production, 'Ana (forgetting will also take us)', produced by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Factoría Unahoramenos and the Theater Pérez Galdós of the Gran Canaria capital, has been included in the 46th edition of the Book of Shows Recommended by the Theater and Dance Commission of the Spanish Theater Network, along with 21 other national shows.
The assembly, written by the playwright Irma Correa and directed by Mario Vega, was premiered last October at the Teaatro Pérez Galdós in the framework of the 'Laboratorio Galdós' initiative, with an acting cast composed of Marta Viera, María de Vigo, Ruth Sánchez and Rubén Darío as protagonists.
The playwright and author of the text of theatrical montage 'Ana (forgetfulness will also take us'), Irma Correa, has been inspired by Nora de Ibsen and her 'House of dolls' and in the Tristana de Galdós, to approach this drama of women who are consumed in the space of their insipid and leaden existence and that in this production that directs Mario Vega, are located in the sparse Spain of the sixties, drawing a bridge between then and now. The work directed by Mario Vega tells the story of Ana, a woman married to a ministerial official who awaits a desired promotion, which seems to vanish her limited world, until she meets Vivian, an enthusiastic French photographer with whom she initiates an intense relationship that will open new expectations in your life and renew the domestic pulse of your sharp days. Vivian will make her see that her life is not, by far, what she in the end craves. As the happy relationship between both women grows and strengthens, the abyss that separates Ana and her husband opens up further.
The inclusion of the aforementioned montage in notebook 46 of the Spanish Theater Network coincides with the closing of the first edition of the aforementioned scenic project, which will allow, until 2020, the production of two other great theatrical productions in order to celebrate the dimension of the inheritance of the universal Canarian writer on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of his birth (1843-2018) and the 100th anniversary of his death (1920-2020).
The 'Laboratorio Galdós' has been articulated since last September as a unique experience impelled in the field of the creation of the performing arts in the Canary Islands, conceiving the public and the scenic agents as a vital and driving instrument of each and every one of the activities that it has contemplated and will continue contemplating in 2019 and 2020 its ample program.
