The Budgets will include an aid of up to 100 euros per child for families receiving IMV and with low incomes

The General State Budgets (PGE) of 2022 will include a supplement of up to 100 euros per dependent child under three years of age for families that receive the Minimum Living Income (IMV) and those with low incomes. The Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra, has announced this measure on her Twitter account. “An agreement that continues to improve the Minimum Living Income and that brings us a little closer to the universal benefit for parenting”, he celebrated.

In addition to the recipients of the IMV, United We can sources explain that this new supplement may be received by “families with incomes of up to 27,000 euros per year in the case of families of 2 adults and a child.” If there is one more child in the house, it will correspond to those households that have a “total income of up to 32,100 euros per year”. In the case of single-parent families with a dependent child and income of up to 25,700 euros per year or with two children and income of up to 30,800 euros per year, they will also be entitled to receive this benefit.

These same sources assure that the confederal group “hopes to be able to agree new amendments with the government partner in the next few hours to guarantee that the IMV reaches all the people who need it in our country.”

With this agreement, the Government is betting on higher aid than that announced a few months ago. In June, Minister José Luis Escrivá proposed the creation of a supplement of 50 euros per month per child for families in poverty, as published by At that time, it was calculated that this, which was presented by the socialist parliamentary group in the processing of the IMV Bill, could benefit “half a million children” in the short term and “one million” in the long term. Government.

In statements to Onda Cero, collected by Europa Press, Belarra stressed that this supplement represents an advance towards the goal of achieving a universal child-raising benefit, something that “would strengthen the welfare state.”

United We can already proposed including this provision in the draft of the Budgets, which was presented yesterday, but finally its development will be included in the parliamentary process, through a compromise amendment agreed with the PSOE.
