Twenty people have died in the 17 fatal accidents recorded on the roads from 3 pm on Thursday until midnight on Sunday, on a long weekend for the All Saints holiday.
According to the balance of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) of the 20 deceased, nine were vulnerable users: five motorists, three pedestrians and a cyclist.
The most tragic day of the long weekend was Saturday, Day 2 with 8 deaths in seven accidents, followed by Friday with five fatalities in as many accidents.
On Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. until midnight, two accidents with three deaths were recorded while this Sunday another four people died in the road in three accidents.
Fourteen of the seventeen accidents took place on conventional roads.
By type of accident, there were 9 collisions, three road exits and three other pedestrian abuses.
So far this year, 929 people have died in a car accident.
October has ended with 110 dead, eleven more in the same month last year.
