The bishops apologize for the "inconsistencies" of the members of the Church

The Cardinal Archbishop of Barcelona and President of the Spanish Episcopal Conference (CEE), Juan Jose Omella, has asked "sorry" for the "inconsistencies" of the members of the church, including the bishops themselves, with which contribute "not without scandal" to the "lack of confidence in the hierarchy".
"It is true that faith is losing presence in the environmental culture of our country. Which is also caused, we have to recognize it, by the internal inconsistencies of the Church and Christians, and we must also say it clearly, of us, the own pastors of the Church, and for that reason I ask for forgiveness ", stressed Omella.
This was pronounced this Monday, November 15, during the inaugural speech of the CXVIII Plenary Assembly of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, which brings together the Spanish bishops, during this week in Madrid.
Omella has recognized "lack of testimony and inconsistencies", as well as "divisions and lack of evangelizing passion"on the part of the members of the Church." On not a few occasions we contributed, not without scandal, to the disaffection and lack of trust in the hierarchy, in the Church itself", has indicated.
