The company committee of Iberia Barcelona has decided to give a week of margin to the company's management so that it sits down to negotiate and has set a deadline to register another strike of the ground staff on Friday, August 2.
The committee explained in a press release Tuesday the approval by 14 votes in favor and 2 abstentions of the continuity of the mobilizations during August and the mandate to the strike committee to force the management to negotiate during this week.
"In the event that there is no intention to negotiate on the part of the company, the Iberia Barcelona works council will be forced to reconvene stoppages during August," the statement said.
The workers, who already made two days of strike last weekend of July 27 and 28, insist on the statement that the resolution of the conflict must be negotiated in Catalonia, although the final signature is at the state level.
Workers demand to stabilize employment, transform permanent part-time employees into permanent full-time employees and transfer 400 temporary workers from a workforce of more than 1,000 people to permanent.
The workers' representatives believe that this would solve most of the problems currently suffered by the workforce, such as the "abuse of compulsory overtime" or the reorganization of shifts and schedules that would allow the Iberia Barcelona workforce to work in "decent conditions."
