Wilco, one of the leading bands of folk-rock and country-rock, from Chicago (United States) will perform in the Plaza de Toros de Murcia on June 25, 2020, a place that they have not been in since 2012. They will present their new album : "Ode to Joy", is characterized by a unique rhythmic line and a minimalist instrumentation, with lyrics of various kinds.
“Love is Everywhere (Beware)” is the main single from the album, an optimistic guitar-driven song that explores the double joy and threat of a community centered on love. After the two solo albums, “Warm” and “Warmer,” and having published his memoirs, Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back), Tweedy brought Wilco together in “The Wilco. Ode To Today ”(2019). Although the six components of the group are present in each of the songs on the album, it highlights the importance of Jeff Tweedy (singer and guitarist) and Glenn Kotche (drums), they were in charge of the lyrics. Kotche's percussion drove the music forward while Tweedy found the right words to create the lyrics. This type of shared work may remind Marc Lawrence's film, starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore "You the lyrics and I the music." The result was an album formed by "really great, big folk songs, these monolithic and brutal structures in which these delicate feelings hang," Tweedy has described.
