The members of the SGAE have voted in 58% affirmatively to the new statutes proposed by the board of directors, which means not reaching the necessary two-thirds majority to approve them and to be rejected in the assembly.
In total, the 'yes' has achieved 13,074 votes, while the 'no' a total of 9,920 votes (40.91%). The abstentions have reached 242 votes (1.07%), for a total of 22.36 votes.
In this way, the entity would not be fulfilling the requirement of the Ministry of Culture and Sports that expired this Friday, December 28, in which the SGAE was asked to adapt to European regulations. From now on, a period of uncertainty opens up in which the Ministry could either intervene the entity or withdraw its license.
