The Alfredo Kraus Auditorium will host the final of the VIII Alfredo Kraus International Singing Competition on Saturday 25 September, at 7:00 p.m., promoted by the Alfredo Kraus International Foundation, in collaboration with the Cabildo de Gran Canaria. The final will feature a performance by the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra (OFGC), under the direction of maestro Óliver Díaz. With more than 124 participants, a record number in its eight editions, the jury of the contest is chaired by the Mexican tenor Francisco Araiza, along with Daniel Bianco (director of the National Theater of La Zarzuela in Madrid), Luca Ioseffini (director of the MMF Academy) , Elisabete Matos (artistic director of the São Carlos Theater in Lisbon), Alessandro Galoppini (casting director of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan), Celestino Varela (general and artistic director of the Oviedo Opera), Ulises Jaén (general and artistic director of the Opera of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), with Jerónimo Saavedra as vocal of honor.
