Texas oil plummets 24.4% in its third worst decline in history

The price of Texas intermediate oil (WTI) closed this Wednesday with a drop of 24.4%, to $ 20.37 a barrel, in its third worst drop in history, which leaves US crude at levels from 18 years ago, due to investors' fear of the impact on demand for the coronavirus.

At the end of live trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex), WTI futures contracts for April delivery subtracted $ 6.58 from the previous session on Tuesday.
