The airports Tenerife South, Alicante-Elche, Seville, Menorca and Ibiza will join the five airports that, since this Saturday, are the only entry point for travelers from abroad, the Minister of Transport, José Luis Ábalos, has advanced.
In his Twitter account, Ábalos has indicated that tomorrow he will sign a resolution so that from this Monday those five airports will also serve as entry points for travelers with the capacity to attend international public health emergencies.
The minister added that “little by little” other aerodromes will be incorporated into the group of authorized facilities for entry to Spain.
According to the ministerial order published on Friday in the Official State Gazette (BOE), and which has entered into force today, the airports of entry are those of Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, Gran Canaria, Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Málaga- Costa del Sol and Palma de Mallorca.
Shortly before Ábalos formalized its announcement, the Tenerife City Council indicated that the Transport Minister had promised that Tenerife Sur Airport would be opened to international flights as an entry point during the de-escalation process.
