Ten hymns of Rosendo to celebrate its 65th anniversary – The Province

Rosendo Market (Madrid, February 23, 1954) put an end to his farewell tour last year with big concerts in Madrid and Barcelona. Nothing has been known about him since then, thus fulfilling his will.

"We can see each other again, I do not know, even if it's in the afterlife, I do not know, I do not like farewells, it hurts to have to stop, but life is this," he told the 15,000 people gathered in WiZink in December Center for the final farewell of theirs, of the people of Madrid.

Knowing the rocker from Carabanchel, always so oblivious to the foci and the nonsense, it is more than likely that he does keep his word and, unlike all those who say they leave, but end up returning, his was a final goodbye.

Nobody in their right mind wants a world without Rosendo on the scenarios, but the truth is that he has earned his right to retirement based on road and blanket, peak and spade, with unblemished professionalism. Nothing to object to, therefore.

And in intimacy he celebrates his 65th birthday this Saturday. The age of that retirement that the rockers repeatedly deny themselves, but that he has wanted. And to celebrate, we review his heritage, his legacy, which will always be there for us. His anthems of committed rock and with bad milk. As it comes.

The train (1979)

Rosendo enrolled in 1972 in his first group, Fresa, which mutated in ÑU when vocalist José Carlos Molina joined. The relations between both were never quite good and so in 1977 the guitarist started to set up his own group, Leño, which debuted in 1978 as the opening act for Asfalto. His first self-titled album came in 1979 and marks the birth of urban rock with classics such as 'Sodoma y Chabola', 'El Tren' or the furious song of 'Este Madrid'.

Ways to live (1981)

Leño recorded two other studio albums, but his great classic for posterity, 'Ways to live', was not going to be in any of them. It was recorded as simple and ended up finding accommodation in a live recorded in 1981 in Madrid. Thank goodness, because it is the most emblematic composition of Rosendo, millions of times chanted in bars and concerts by different generations. Tribal spirit chant.

Grateful (1985)

Problems with the record Sapphire and internal tensions ended with Leño in 1983. After the inevitable crossing of the desert, Rosendo was reborn with a first solo album that is the absolute classic of Spanish music, Loco por incordiar (1985). Full of psalms for the parishioners such as the one that gives title to the group, 'Pan de Fig' or, of course, 'Grateful'.

Sailing (1986)

It was never Rosendo a guy who sold hundreds of thousands of albums, but a reliable artist to deliver compact albums as Out of Place (1986), his second solo work. With classics such as 'The winner', 'Face to face', 'impertinent obstacle' or the punk forcefulness of 'Navigating', moment that, like 'Thankful', is still key in their direct.

Loose of trousers (1988)

His third album, … A las lombrices (1987) gave away a handful of notable songs to make up his classical stage, but we had to wait until playing the guide (1988) for another qualitative leap with a collection of compositions of the size of ' Manifiesta depressing ',' Del lung ',' Bajo cuerda 'or' Lajos de pantalón ', with its most celebrated guitar solo. And look, he has a few. 'Loose of trousers', the Born to Run of Carabanchel.

Let me tell you no (1991)

The decade of the nineties presented uncertainties for everyone, but Rosendo went through the squadron with a more refined but equally strong sound in 'Borrachuzos', 'Mala vida', 'Salud y buenas alimentos' and, above all, that rebellious statement of principles – the umpteenth – that is 'Let me tell you no'.

Majete (1992)

Only a few years later came his album La tortuga (1992), which for posterity was especially 'Majete', with one of those lyrics so Rosendo, as convoluted and replete with puns, but in reality have a clear message little to be attended: "You know that I always did everything I could and that I was ever to palm, that do not hesitate, or I'm tainted as an oaf, Majete! Not everyone who gets in, no one guarantees your investment. Not everyone who gets out gets in and the damn temptation is hard. "

Go exemplary of spring (1998)

The discs For badly or for good (1994) and Ready for the reconversion (1996) strengthened to Rosendo before all a new generation of bands of rock that indicated to him like patriarch. But he always to his own, as a good worker of the songs, taking out his record, making his concerts and returning to Carabanchel without caring. In 1998 came his ninth album, A tientas y Barrancas, with a band that went from quartet to trio and that has remained unchanged since then. Go exemplary spring opened new stage with muscle to spare.

Single Male (2002)

Change of century and Rosendo always en route with songs for normal and mere insane (2001), followed by Veo veo … mamoneo (2002), where he played one of his most celebrated songs, 'Masculino singular', showing that he won with the years as a lyricist and a great juggler of word games. A small catchy success like few others.

Shame torera (2013)

The long-awaited stability that Rosendo always sought since its inception ended up arriving not so long ago. The classic years are that, classics, but they were never buoyant doors inside. In full maturity and if the conditions were desired and was unanimous recognition to a long career with albums like The bad is neither realize (2005), The endemic liar and the obstinate stubborn (2007) and Sometimes it costs to reach refrain (2010).

Without great stridencies, Carabanchel was already an institution for some time not only for its most loyal, but for the general public. Regarding his grief, with a very recognizable style, Fender Stratocaster always (except a fleeting stage with Gibson Les Paul) and non-conformist choruses of those who shoot and capture attention: "It is evident, they lie, they continually lie".

I am (2017)

Forty-five years after entering the music, Rosendo delivered in the summer of 2017 his latest album, the sixteenth, entitled De escalde y trench, number 3 on the Spanish sales list-it was already number 2 with Sometimes it's hard to get to refrain, but never 1-. With its condition of classic barely assumed, the caravanchelero is a state of mind, it is a way of understanding life. A teacher, the only 'reliable market', our 'president'.

And that without ever saying one word higher than another, speaking exclusively with his songs and his guitar. So, therefore, whether you want it or not, Rosendo president !: "I am the pitcher and the source, I am the suffering suicidal, the moon and the rising sun, I am the protagonist, helper and producer, assistant, scriptwriter and of course the director. I am an optimist, I am the great trickster, I am the owner of the track, I am the center of attention ".
