Telefónica Tech, the company that brings together the telecom's digital business, has reinforced the profile of its advisory board with two appointments: Eva Fernández, global director of Communication at Telefoncia and Jaime Bergel, partner-managing director of HIG Capital.

The current Global Director of Communications at Telefónica, Eva Fernández, has held numerous managerial positions throughout her professional career. She was co-founder of El Español and CEO since 2015, general director of Unidad Editorial (publisher of El Mundo, Expansión and Marca), and Chief Digital Officer of Grupo RCS. She was named the best professional in the sector by the AEEPP (Association of press editors) in 2018. She has a doctorate 'cum laude' from the San Pablo CEU University, a master's degree in e-business from the Polytechnic University and the author of several books and articles on management technology applied to the company.

For his part, the other new member of the advisory board Jaime Bergel is currently partner-managing director in Spain of HIG Capital, a fund dedicated to the search for investment opportunities with more than 400 professionals. Bergel, who is a Civil Engineer from the University of Texas and has an MBA from Northwestern University, has extensive experience in investment firms. He was managing director of the Investment Banking department at Goldman Sachs and later was president of Merrill Lynch for Spain and Portugal. In 2004 he founded and chaired the private equity firm Gala Capital.

In this way, Jaime Bergel and Eva Fernández have become part of the advisory board chaired by José Cerdán, CEO of Telefónica Tech; which is made up of twelve directors (six men and six women) of recognized prestige and experience in the field of technology. Four of them are members of the board of directors of Telefónica: Ángel Vilá, CEO of Telefónica; Verónica Pascual, CEO of Asti Technologies Group; Juan Ignacio Cirac, director at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics; and Claudia Sender.

The composition of the advisory body is completed with Chema Alonso, Chief Digital Officer of Telefónica; María García-Legaz, Chief of Staff at Telefónica; María Jesús Almazor, CEO of Cybersecurity and Cloud at Telefónica Tech; Gonzalo Martín-Villa, CEO of IoT and Big Data at Telefónica Tech; Alejandro Romero, Chief Operations officer of Constella Intelligence; and Isabel Fernández, doctor in Computing and Artificial Intelligence with expertise in Big Data, IoT and Digital Ethics, and currently rector of the Alfonso X El Sabio University. The secretary of the Board is Luis Prendes, Chief Legal Officer of Telefónica.
