In this unstable plateau that has turned out to be the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, all indicators show uneven progress depending on the autonomous community. The incidence increases in Aragon, the Balearic Islands, Cantabria, the Valencian Community, the Basque Country, Madrid and La Rioja. It is precisely in these last three months that the situation in the ICU has been under high stress for months and has reached an unsustainable point. The proof is that the Basque Health Service has paralyzed scheduled surgeries in all hospitals due to the rebound in COVID-19 cases, something that had not happened since the first wave.
