The management of Spain of the
health crisis and economic caused by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 has had the worst results of the European Union. Spain is the country with the largest drop in GDP last year, and is among the five with the highest mortality from Covid-19 in relation to the size of its population.
In Spain, the annual gross product (GDP) fell by -10.8% in 2020. It is the biggest fall in the European Union, according to Eurostat data. It is even the largest of all the European countries collected in the statistics of the community office. The second worst is the United Kingdom, already outside the EU, with a fall of -9.9%. On Germany fell by -4.9%;
