Spain registers 512 deaths and 52,386 cases of coronavirus since Friday

The Ministry of Health has registered 512 deaths with coronavirus and 52,386 new cases of contagion since Friday. In the last day, a total of 4,441 contagion cases have been reported, bringing the total number to 1,381,218. Last weekend 55,019 cases were registered.

The total of people killed with COVID-19 rises to 39,345 and, in the last seven days, 1,054 have died with the infection.

By communities, the most affected regions are Andalusia with 12,209 cases, Catalonia with 9,630, Euskadi with 5,025, Castilla y León with 4,830 and Madrid with 3,309.

The number of people hospitalized has increased by 2,457 over the weekend, as has admissions to the ICU, with 188 more people in intensive care. At the moment, there are 21,029 people admitted with COVID-19, which represents 17.28% of the total beds, and 3,007 people are in the ICU, this represents 31.76% of the total.

In the last seven days, 4,604 people with COVID-19 have been admitted to Spanish hospitals and 324 to intensive care.

This Monday, some autonomous communities have announced new measures to stop the coronavirus. In Castilla-La Mancha, for example, the perimeter closure and the curfew have been extended, in addition, the interior of the hotel industry in the cities of Toledo, Cuenca and Talavera has been closed.

Andalusia has also announced measures that will remain in force until 00.00 hours on November 24. Mobility between municipalities will be prohibited, no non-essential activities can be carried out from 6:00 p.m. and the curfew is extended from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The community will continue to be closed perimeter.

From 2:00 p.m. to November 23, Castilla y León will continue to be confined to the perimeter, as has been published this Monday in the official autonomy bulletin. In Catalunya, The Government plans to keep bars closing for another 15 days and the municipal confinement on the weekend. Extremadura has extended the curfew until the end of the state of alarm, which will take place in May.

On the other hand, this Monday the pharmacist Pfizer has announced that its COVID-19 vaccine is more than 90% effective. In addition, the company has indicated, no serious side effects have been recorded.
