The campaign against COVID-19 began in Spain back in December with just 300,000 doses of vaccines a week, but now the rate is more than double the number of punctures every day. As the percentage of the immunized population grows, it is more evident that there will be left over vials. The European Union bought many more than necessary for its entire population, so the four pharmaceutical companies that supply us have committed 93.3 million for Spain until September. We have already received 47 million and there are more to come. At the same time, there are only eight million citizens waiting for their second dose and about 10 million waiting for their full schedule to reach the target of 70% vaccinated.
The 60 to 69-year-old group without a second dose represents a crack for group immunity against the Delta variant
