Spain exceeds 75,000 deaths with coronavirus and the incidence rate continues to grow

The incidence rate rises again this Friday and stands at 138.63 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. The data, which has not stopped growing since last Tuesday, yesterday was 134.08 cases, according to the Ministry of Health. The trend in recent weeks indicates a slow increase in cases, which increasingly moves Spain away from achieving the goal imposed by Health of less than 50 cases.

7,586 new cases of coronavirus have also been registered this Friday, while the infections registered yesterday were 6,393.

As for the deceased, Health has today added 590 new victims to the total balance, which amounts to 75,010 since the start of the pandemic. Yesterday’s figure was 356 deaths, inflated by a data adjustment by Catalonia, which has reported more than 900 deaths in the last week.

In this epidemiological context, this Friday we learned that Health has finally reached an agreement with the autonomous communities to Recommend the closure of the interior of the hotel industry in high-risk areas, with a 14-day cumulative incidence of over 150 cases. The Public Health Commission of the Interterritorial Council has approved the document prepared by the technicians and advanced by, although there is no obligation that asks for the service to be suspended within the hotel and catering establishments in the areas.
