In total, 17,430,810 doses have been administered and 26.1% of the population has at least the first puncture, more than 12.3 million people. Of the total doses administered, 300,000 have been applied in the last 24 hours.

By age group, 100% of those over 80 years of age are already vaccinated with the first dose and more than 93.3% of this group is already fully immunized. 85.3% of those between 70 and 79 years old have also been vaccinated with the first injection. Of that age, 22.3% have the complete pattern.

Yesterday Spain reached a new milestone in the vaccination process after exceeding five million people vaccinated with the full schedule. This means that all of them have received two injections with the antidotes from Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca or Moderna or a single puncture from Janssen, which is the only single-dose preparation authorized in Spain so far. It is more than 10% of the population and it was one of the goals set by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, at the beginning of April.

On April 6, at a press conference after the Council of Ministers, Sánchez predicted that up to 33 million Spaniards will be fully immunized against COVID-19 by the end of August, approximately 70% of the population. In addition, it marked a series of previous milestones to be achieved during the vaccination process.

The first was reached in the middle of the month: having more people vaccinated with the full schedule than the reported number of infections. The second we have just overcome, with 5 million immunized. The third is to have 10 million vaccinated with the complete schedule in the first week of June, that is, in less than a month.
