Some 200 unionists protest against the ERE on the board of CaixaBank

Some 200 union delegates from CaixaBank from all over Spain have gathered at the Palacio de Congresos in Valencia, where the bank holds its shareholder meeting, in protest at the Employment Regulation File (ERE) submitted by the entity and which affects 2,157 employees.

"We are here to say 'no' to all the forced measures proposed by the management," Ruth Bolaños, head of Communication at CCOO at CaixaBank, told Efe that "it is outrageous" for the entity to "mistreat the template "when it has gained 1,985 million euros in 2018, 17.8% more than the previous year.

Bolaños recalled that two months ago the union management and representation negotiated the adjustment of staff, although so far, he said, "CaixaBank has not paid any attention" to their proposals and keeps on the table the dismissals and forced transfers.

Coinciding with the holding of the ordinary general meeting of shareholders of CaixaBank, which for the second time is held in Valencia, where the entity moved its headquarters a year and a half ago, all the bank's employees were called to perform a work stoppage at 11.00 before their work centers in protest of the ERE.
