The General Secretary of Socialist Youth of Spain (JSE), Omar Anguita, today called for "a massive mobilization on November 25," International Day against Gender Violence, "like the one that was lived on March 8 during the strike feminist".
In a statement, JSE has joined the demands of 25N and has expressed its "firm commitment" to policies for equality between men and women.
Anguita recalled that the organization she leads has launched the #ControlNoEsAmor campaign to raise awareness and prevent sexist attitudes among younger couples.
"Something is moving in recent times," said the head of JSE, who has observed "a greater awareness of citizenship, which increasingly rejects sexist attitudes."
For its part, the Deputy Secretary General of JSE and director of the Valencian Institute for Women, Maria Such, has stressed that, despite all the awareness campaigns, there are still "very worrying figures" of gender violence and has appealed to the environment of the victim to denounce.
To prevent sexist attitudes, Such has also considered education as a key, so that young people are able to identify sexist attitudes and situations, since that is "the only way to reject them".
