Snow breaks through the Peninsula - La Provincia

The snow broke yesterday in numerous points of the center and this peninsular, where cities like Madrid, Ávila or Teruel have dawned with a thin white blanket, while the intense rains have overflowed streams in Malaga and threaten the Ebro channel. The storm has left temperatures unusually low at numerous points and snow problems on some thirty secondary roads; The worst is in Cáceres, Soria, Guadalajara and Madrid, where the port of Navacerrada is cut off by trucks and articulated vehicles and the use of chains between Miraflores and Rascafría is mandatory, reports Traffic (DGT).
The biggest snowfalls have corresponded to Aragon, with thicknesses of up to 15 centimeters in the Sierra de Albarracín or 5 centimeters in the capital Teruel, and have accumulated up to 10 centimeters in points of the Central System -especially in the provinces of Ávila, Segovia and Soria -, mountain ranges of Guadalajara and Community of Madrid and 7 centimeters in Iberian Rioja. With the passing of the hours, the level of snow will rise progressively until reaching around 1,200-1,400 meters and temperatures.
