Africa House will host tomorrow morning the inauguration of the second edition of his Tech Forum, a meeting that allows to put in contact institutions and Spanish and African companies of the technological sector. In this edition, the technology forum focuses on the challenges and possibilities of the urban environment in African countries from the perspective of cities and cities. smart destinations.
The meeting is attended by more than 50 African and Spanish companies (about thirty of them, Canary Islands) that will take advantage of the two days of meeting to present their work and projects around the new technologies applied to urban growth. The II Tech Forum has Moroccan, Mauritanian, Senegalese, Cape Verdean, Ghanaian and Ivory Coast companies, as well as companies from the Islands Azores, diverse of the peninsula and about thirty companies based in the Canary Islands.
The Meeting, which will take place tomorrow, Thursday and Friday at the Casa África headquarters, is organized by the public diplomacy institution in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Knowledge of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the public company PROEXCA and the Canarian Agency for Research, Innovation and Information Society of the Government of the Canary Islands (ACIISI) and within the collaboration agreement signed with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and tourism. The Cluster Canarias Excelencia Tecnológica also collaborates and has the sponsorship of the Economic Promotion Society of Gran Canaria (SPEGC) and Binter.
In the inauguration institutional act, tomorrow, at 9.00 am and in the Casa África auditorium, José Luis Márquez, Casa África manager, Ildefonso Socorro, vice-councilor of Economy and Economic Affairs will participate with the European Union of the Canary Islands Government; Antonio Morales, president of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria; Fatimetou Mint Abdel Malik, mayor of Nuackhot; Oscar Santos, mayor of Praia (Cape Verde) and Salah El Malouki, mayor of Agadir (Morocco). Previously, at 8.45, the family photo will be taken and the media in the courtyard of Casa África will be attended.
The program of the meeting will have political and technical leaders from smart cities of African and Canary Islands, responsible for the tourism development strategies (Smart Destination) of the respective African countries and Canarian cities and technology companies specialized in providing intelligent urban solutions. The second edition of the Tech Forum will bring together representatives from African cities near the Canary Islands such as Praia (Cape Verde), Nouakchott (Mauritania), Agadir (Morocco), Dakar (Senegal), Abidjan (Ivory Coast) and Accra (Ghana), as well as to include those responsible for the economic promotion of the Azores and Madeira.
The initiative is aimed at entrepreneurs, people interested in investing in this sector and start-ups committed to the ecosystem of smart urban solutions. This activity is carried out within the framework of the CONFIAFRICA project, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund-ERDF within the framework of the INTERREG MAC cooperation program (Azores, Madeira and the Canary Islands).
