Five minors and one woman died today after a stampede at the nightclub "Lanterna azzurra" in the Italian town of Corinaldo, in the province of Ancona, during the concert of a well-known rapper, allegedly because someone dispersed a pepper spray, reported the firefighters.
The dead are three girls, two boys and a mother who had accompanied her daughter to the concert of the Italian Sfera Ebbasta, while there are 12 very serious people among the injured, who exceed the hundred, according to Italian media, citing sources of the police.
Some witnesses have told that they started running after being scared when they felt an acid smell and they went to the emergency doors of the premises, which were closed.
In the attempt to leave the premises by one of the doors that managed to open, the young people were crowded, fell and many were trampled by the rest.
The injured have been distributed in hospitals in nearby towns and the most serious have been moved to Ancona, in the central region of Marche.
The investigators try to find out what caused the stampede and why the emergency doors were not opened, especially the one in which the greatest number of young people gathered and where the mortal victims were found.
According to a Twitter message from the Fire Department, the stampede occurred before the 1.00 Italian time (00.00 GMT) and in the images broadcast by the firemen you can see dozens of young people being taken care of on a road and some of them taken on stretchers.
Sfera Ebbasta is one of the most famous rappers in Italy, an idol for teenagers.
