‘SinfónicAs’ pays tribute to female icons in music history

The soloists Moneiba Hidalgo, Marieme Abdouyale, Almudena Hernández and Dunia Santana will be the soul of a unique musical and scenographic evening. Together with the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra they will invite us to enjoy a delicious repertoire that recalls leading divas of female music, traveling through musical styles as diverse as the soul of Aretha Franklin or Nina Simone, the Spanish song of the eternal Rocío Jurado or the salsa rhythm of the incombustible Celia Cruz.

Thus, the Symphony Orchestra brings back to the Canarian stages an unpublished and original production that wants to enhance and make visible the talent of young island singers who have made a niche for themselves in the archipelago’s musical scene. With them, SinfónicAs also pays tribute to those great icons of our musical history.

The Las Palmas Symphony is presented, on this occasion, with an orchestra composed of almost thirty musicians, who will be in charge of accompanying and carrying Moneiba Hidalgo, Marieme Abdouyale, Almudena Hernández and Dunia Santana in this musical evening masterfully conducted by the stage direction of Nacho Cabrera, the musical direction of Luis Montesdeoca and the arrangements of the composers Eduardo Purriños, Manuel Estupiñán, Carlos Vega and Josué Santana.
