Seven people have died in seven fatal accidents that occurred on Spanish roads since the start of the special operation of Traffic for the bridge of All Saints, which today Sunday has had a day of staggered return, without special complications in large cities.
As reported to Efe the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT), on Wednesday, coinciding with the operation and today, with the return home, have been the days with more sinister mortals, with two accidents on each of those days.
One person has died and another has been seriously injured in an accident that was recorded this morning in the town of Santa Olalla (Toledo) on the CM-4024 road.
And in Madrid a 40-year-old man has died and another 42-year-old man has been seriously injured in two similar accidents on the M-521, in Navalagamella, and on the M-625, with Colmenar Viejo, when he lost control of the motorcycles that both drove and got off the track.
These accidents are added to the other five registered since the start of the operation of the DGT that started at 3:00 pm last Wednesday – in which there were two fatal accidents – and which ends this midnight.
That day a person died in Vitoria and another one in the N-111 in the municipality of Logroño when a man of 75 years died as a result of the collision between three vehicles.
Already on Thursday a 30-year-old man lost his life after being run over by a car in the Alicante town of L'Alfàs del Pi; and on Friday a motorcyclist died after suffering a fall while driving on the A-397 in the municipality of Parauta, Málaga.
Yesterday, Saturday, a man died in the act and another one was seriously wounded when colliding the vehicle in which both traveled against a tree in an avenue of the Madrilenian locality of Navalcarnero.
The return operation is being quite staggered, as explained to Efe a spokesman of the DGT that has specified that, as expected, the situation has been aggravated as the afternoon progressed.
That has been the case of Madrid, which is holding at 17.00 hours on the main access roads, especially on the A-5 with up to 10 kilometers of traffic jams at certain times of the afternoon and on the A-1, which is very congested at several points. points, at the height of El Molar and San Agustín de Guadalix.
Less complicated has been the day in Barcelona with retentions of a few kilometers but without affecting the bypass roads of the county, while in Valencia and Seville has happened as in Madrid and circulation has been getting worse throughout the afternoon but without excessive jams.
The DGT launched on Wednesday a special device to regulate, monitor and give security to the six million long-distance trips planned for the bridge of Todos los Santos and short-term trips motivated by the visit to cemeteries.
