Former Socialist Minister of Industry between 2008 and 2011, Miguel Sebastián, has been proposed by the board of directors of SEPI as proprietary director of Indra, a Spanish multinational owned by this public company by 18.7%, as confirmed by the company. The also professor of Fundamentals of the Economic Analysis in the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) would replace like adviser to Adolfo Menéndez Menéndez, appointed under the Executive of Rajoy.
On behalf of SEPI in Indra, as proprietary director, he still remains the former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Juan Carlos Aparicio (1999-2002) in the governments of Aznar and former mayor of Burgos (2003-2011).
In this way, Sánchez continues with its policy of placing high socialist political offices or members of the current management in large public companies, such as the former Minister of Public Administration with Zapatero,Jordi Sevilla, who currently holds the presidency of Red Eléctrica Española (REE), a company where Maite Costa – former president of the defunct National Energy Commission – has also been placed, or that of the Socialist exporter in the Senate, Oscar López, as president of Paradores, among other cases. In a few months, the current president has taken over the management councils of a large part of the public business sector.
Sebastian would come to take the place of the State's lawyer Adolfo Menéndez Menéndez, exsocio of the office Uría Menéndez and who has been exercising different responsibilities under governments of the Popular Party as undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense (1996-2000) and undersecretary of the Ministry of Development (2000-2004).
