A court of justice in Guatemala sentenced today to three years in prison, commutable at 57 cents per day, a woman who killed her partner when she was being unfaithful in her own home.
In case the convicted murderer opts for the economic commutation, she should pay a total of 624 euros to avoid the penalty of deprivation of liberty.
The First Court of Criminal Sentence, Drug Trafficking and Crimes against the Environment of Criminal Sentence of the Department of Alta Verapaz (north) found Martha Elida Caal Ac guilty of the crime of "homicide committed in a state of violent emotion".
According to the prosecutor's investigation, on June 27, 2015, at 7:00 pm, the woman came to her home and surprised her partner, Luis Alfredo Sis Júc, with another woman.
