Colombian Senator Roy Barreras asked for a vote of censure on Tuesday for Defense Minister Guillermo Botero, whom he accused of reviving the executions of civilians known as "false positives" and hiding bombings in the country where minors died.
"Hiding those deaths from Colombia is reason enough for this Senate to censor it, as I am sure it will do for the first time" in the country's history, said Barreras, of the National Unity Party.
The senator called a debate on the motion of censure against Botero, who said he has also failed in terms of security, including putting the country at risk of an armed conflict with Venezuela for transmitting incorrect national security information to President Iván Duque.
