The Formula 1 disputes his sixth race of the 2020 season arriving at the Barcelona circuit of Montmeló for the dispute of Spanish Grand Prix.
The test brings the championship closer to the equator of this unusual season marked by the coronavirus pandemic. Like the previous races, the Circuit de Catalunya will be held without an audience in the stands.
The Mercedes have been the great dominators of recent seasons on the Spanish circuit, with five wins in the last six years, four of them from Lewis Hamilton and one from Nico Rosberg. The only one who interrupted his dominance was Max verstappen, which prevailed with his Red Bull in 2016.
Hamilton is also the leader of this championship, with three wins in the first five appointments of the season and 30 points ahead of a Verstappen that is going from less to more and has already chained four consecutive podiums. Four points behind the Dutch comes the other Mercedes from Valtteri Bottas, winner in the first test of the season, and already 62 points behind the leader appears the first Ferrari, Charles Leclerc. For its part, the Spanish Carlos Sainz He arrives eleventh with 15 points, after chaining two consecutive ‘zeros’ at Silverstone.
