Schedule and where to watch the Monaco GP free practice

The Formula 1 go back to the circuit of Monaco, one of the most characteristic events in the history of this sport. English Lewis hamilton (Mercedes), seven times world champion, leads, with 14 points -94 to 80- over the Dutch Max verstappen (Red bull) to a grand prize that starts this Thursday with the ‘atypical’ first day of free practice, in the mythical urban circuit of Montecarlo. The first contact of the pilots with this urban track is at 11:30 a.m. and the second, at 3:00 p.m..

Unlike usual, rehearsals do not start on a Friday; that in the most ‘glamorous’ test of the year is a rest day, on the eve of qualifying on Saturday. Determinant for the Sunday race, in the narrow and winding streets of the principality of the Côte d’Azur where it is practically impossible to overtake.

Hamilton, 36, who after equaling German Michael Schumacher’s record of seven titles last year was named ‘Sir’ by Queen Elizabeth of England, is coming off winning his third race of the year, in Spain. Where raised to 100 his own historical record of ‘poles’ and relegated -for the third time this course- to second place to ‘Mad Max’, winner in Imola (Italy), the only time the British did not; and who aspires, at least, to get on the podium for the first time in Monaco.
