The Children’s oncology plant of the Maternal and Child Insular Hospital It was filled with light, illusion and, above all, many smiles. A great party welcomed Santa Claus, who as every year did not miss the appointment with the children who, on these special dates, are admitted to the third floor of the hospital. The arrival of santa claus, which this time was accompanied by his lovely wife, this year was also possible thanks to the collaboration of the municipal company Sagulpa with the association of children with cancer Little brave.
The traditional Christmas party, organized by Little brave, which every year fills with happiness and hope the children’s oncology plant of the Maternal and Child Insular Hospital, has been one of the projects subsidized by Sagulpa within the framework of the II Call for Aid of the municipal company to Social Action Projects.
The synergy between Sagulpa and Little Brave dates back to 2017, when both entities signed a timely collaboration agreement with the objective of developing activities aimed at improving the quality of life of oncohematological sick children and their families.
Since 2018, this collaboration materializes through the Annual Call for Aid for Social Action Projects, financing the great Christmas party in which gifts are not lacking, an exquisite snack, live music, entertainment and, of course, the Noel family.
For the fourteenth consecutive year, children admitted to the third floor of the Infant Mother, children with outpatient treatment and also some children who have already overcome the disease could forget for a few hours that they were in a hospital and enjoyed a different afternoon with their families, full of excitement and fun.
“From the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, through the public company Sagulpa, we continue to strengthen our social commitment and support the Little Brave association, whose work is essential to improve the care and well-being of children with cancer and their relatives, “explained José Eduardo Ramírez, Movilidad councilor and president of Sagulpa.
In addition to Sagulpa, the Christmas party organized by Little Brave had the collaboration of the companies La Vaquita Catering, Ramón Verdugo, Grupo Ruido, The Federicas, Chocolate Clover, Twin Up and Reflejos.PRO
Within its corporate social responsibility strategy, the municipal public company Sagulpa allocates a total of 70,000 euros every year to finance social action projects developed by non-profit associations in the field of integration of groups at risk of exclusion, awareness and training with sustainable mobility, among others.
This year, the number of projects that have been submitted to the II Call for Aids doubled the number of initiatives received the previous year, which demonstrates the need for many of these associations to have financial resources to realize their projects.
