Sánchez met Wednesday at La Moncloa with Grynspan in a meeting prior to the meeting of the XXVI Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State on November 15 and 16 in Antigua, Guatemala, underlining the central role that Spain occupies in this forum .
During the meeting, the Chief Executive expressed his support for the relaunching of this event by representing an "open dialogue" forum with common principles, values, objectives and culture, reflecting the constructive and multidimensional approach that the Government wants to give to its relationship with all the countries that make up the region.
The meeting that will take place in Guatemala under the slogan "A prosperous, inclusive and sustainable Ibero-America" will be the first summit attended by a President of the Government of Spain in the last four years.
In these summits, countries adopt Political Declarations, Declarations and Special Communiqués on particular issues, such as documents that gather commitments and positions agreed between the entire region.
The Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) was created in 2003 at the Santa Cruz de la Sierra Summit. It is the permanent institutional and technical support body of the Ibero-American Conference and the Summits, based in Madrid.
