In an interview on Telecinco, Sanchez said he was "overwhelmed, excited and a point outraged" by the case of assisted suicide of Maria Jose Carrasco, terminally ill, with the help of her husband, Angel Hernandez, who has been arrested.

He recalled that the PSOE tried to debate in Congress an initiative to regulate euthanasia, which as Carrasco said "is nothing more than good dying, dignity to die."

But he has denounced that the PP and Citizens have blocked "up to nineteen times" this debate because they have avoided the process of the initiative with its majority in the Congress Table.

Pedro Sanchez has indicated that his commitment is firm and has insisted that if he has a majority to do so, "that right will be collected and there will not be a parliamentary minority that can block it."

Asked if he would pardon Ángel Hernández, the Chief Executive has indicated that now this case is in the hands of the justice and the prosecution, but has admitted that he, "obviously", has "that sensitivity and that political proximity of decision with the husband of María José. "
