Sánchez claims to be in contact with Airbus to keep jobs in Spain

The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, assured this Wednesday that his Executive is in contact with Airbus to analyze joint lines of work that allow maintaining the company’s employment in Spain.

Sánchez reported those contacts in statements to journalists in the Portuguese town of Elvas after Airbus announced on Tuesday a cut plan that will mean the elimination of 15,000 jobs worldwide.

He explained that, after knowing that decision, he spoke with the CEO of Airbus to have details of that decision after, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the turnover had fallen by 40 percent.

After remembering that Spain is the founder of Airbus, she has regretted the loss of jobs and that is when she has reported that the Government is working with the company to analyze joint lines of work with Airbus to sustain employment in Spain and this industry remains in the country.
