Sales of the Fiat Chrysler Group (FCA) in the United States increased by 9% in 2018 and reached 2,235,204 vehicles, after achieving a growth of 14% in December.
FCA said today that its sales in December totaled 196,520 vehicles, representing 14% more than in the same month of 2017.
The strong growth of FCA in a generalized environment of falling sales occurred thanks to the good results of the Jeep and Ram brands.
Jeep, specialized in the production of SUVs and SUVs, increased its sales in December by 10%, to 80,449 vehicles, and 17% in the whole year, in which it managed to deliver 973,227 units to its customers.
The sales of 2017 suppose a new record for Jeep.
For its part, Ram, which produces pickup trucks and vans, gained 37% in December, with the delivery of 68,195 vehicles, and 7% in 2018, with 597,368 units.
The Dodge brand also closed 2018 with an increase in sales of 3%, to reach 459,324 units. In December, Dodge sold 32,528 units, 17% more than in the previous year.
Alfa Romeo also had a good year, with delivery of 23,820 vehicles, 98% more than in 2017.
But the Chrysler brand lost 12% of its sales in 2018 and remained at 165,964 units. In December, Chrysler sales were reduced by 28% to 12,425 vehicles.
The Fiat brand had a bad year with the reduction of 41% of its sales to 15,521 units. In December, Fiat lost 44% of its customers with the delivery of only 977 vehicles.
