Sainz, ready to win the Dakar; Alonso continues his preparation

There are only a few months left before the 2020 edition of the Dakar starts and for the first time it will be held in Saudi Arabia, a place unknown to most, but that will be the same or harder than other locations where this mythical test has already been held. Today ended the Rally of Morocco (organized by those who are part of the Dakar) and did it with Giniel de Villiers, next to the Spanish Alex Haro as a navigator, as a winner after fighting until the end with Carlos Sainz, who finally could not beat him due to a breakdown shortly after reaching the goal. The Madrid finished second overall and made it clear that you have to put him back on the list of favorites to win the Dakar at the controls of a Mini. And all that at 56 years old.

On the other hand, Nani Roma finished the stage in sixth position behind the wheel of a Borgward, a proto of a brand that is reborn in this competition while the eighth place went to Fernando Alonso. This time, the Spaniard was able to complete a day without setbacks in which he could check his true rhythm. He reached the goal more than 7 minutes from the best, his partner De Villiers. During the five-day race, the Spaniard has had to overcome all kinds of problems in the form of an accident, punctures … the usual thing in this kind of racing in the desert.

The balance for Alonso is as expected. He has no experience in this kind of competition and in this way he encountered many problems that only "beasts" like Sainz or Peterhansel are able to avoid, even if they did not even get rid. Now it's time to do more tests and even Alonso could play some more tests, this time, in Saudi territory. The Dakar is just around the corner.
