The war of dates to hold the debate between the four main candidates for the general elections on April 28 continues. RTVE has made public a statement this same Thursday in which he offers to organize the contest "on April 23, 2019". The Corporation changes the date that it had formally notified to the Central Electoral Board on April 22. The new date coincides with the debate announced first by Atresmedia and with the only one who is willing to accept the PSOE candidate, Pedro Sánchez.

"RTVE reports its willingness to organize the debate to four with the head of list of PP, PSOE, United We Can and Citizens on April 23, 2019", starts the statement of the Corporation led by Rosa María Mateos.

On Wednesday, on the contrary, he pointed out that the program would be celebrated on the "consensus date" set by the parties. It opened to any day. The 22, the 23 or another of the week. The scheduled date was day 22, but RTVE was "open to be able to do it at later dates, provided that the different invited formations agree on it", according to the sources consulted by eldiario.es.

Atresmedia, for its part, also holds its debate for April 23 in primetime. Go or not Sanchez. The four main leaders have been invited to it, after the Central Electoral Board prevented Vox from participating in the act by failing to comply with the legal requirements established by the electoral regulations.

Pablo Casado, Pablo Iglesias and Ciudadanos have already shown their willingness to attend the two debates. Pedro Sánchez, for his part, has assured that he will only go to one of them. After saying that he preferred the one organized by Antena 3 and La Sexta, the exclusion of Vox led the President of the Government to opt for the RTVE.
